Joe and I were ambitious on our first day. We figured we would have the most energy and be the most excited. We drove through South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi (the fog was so thick, we were driving through clouds; we also got to cross the Mississippi River), Louisiana and stopped in Tyler, Texas. It was a long haul, but totally worth it. We booked a hotel room with a jacuzzi, which was awesome. The extra money was worth it: we were exhausted from packing the truck the previous weekend and then sitting in a car all day. Dinner at Cracker Barrel was so much fun...we were definitely in Texas. It was fun seeing real cowboys come in the restaurant. We went to bed early and crashed...

Trek to Phoenix, January 10, 2009: DAY 1
The night before was supposed to be an early night, but it was not to say the least. I did not end up going to bed until around 1:00 AM. I am a night owl, so normally I wouldn't care, but the alarm was set for 3:45 AM. Joe and I woke up and were able to get ready rather quickly. Thankfully the car was packed the night before (we actually stayed with Drew and Katie since they had a mattress in their guestroom and all we had left was an air mattress that kept deflating). We leave and get going (for those of you who don't know me, when I travel by car, I get ANTSY if we fall behind schedule). Everything was going well as far as time goes. We needed to get gas...no big deal. But at 4:30 AM, gas stations don't offer gas. We pulled into so many gas stations trying to pump gas...I was not a happy camper. :-) Finally we found one. NOW, we can get on the high way. Nope. Joe realized he forgot to leave some paperwork, money and keys at the apartment's main office. So...we had to go to an ATM and drive to our apartment and drop off the necessary items. I just kept my eyes closed.

I'm Back
OK, so my blog has been a disappointment (see Blog Born reference). Let's see if I can keep up now. A lot has changed in a year and a half since I started my blog. I have one less organ, no job and am living in Arizona. Maybe the desert heat will compel me to write on this page, since in a few months, going outside is out of the question.

Lunch 10.04.2007

Here is another lunch story. Today, my office mate Alexandra and my two, yes two bosses Ron and Alix took us out to Larkins on the River. I have been meaning to go there for some time, so I was very excited. We had a delicous lunch and meeting for exciting future projects in Costa Rica, Florida and Georgia.

Lunch 10.02.2007

So many of you are probably thinking, "What the heck is "Lunch 10.02.2007?" Well, usually I can always do lunch with my husband, but it is harder for him to come along because of his crazy schedule. So today of all days, I told him when we were getting ready this morning that I probably could not do lunch with him today. And yes, of course, he said, "Oh man! I had something fun planned for lunch today." Naturally, I got really excited and was able to work out lunch with Joe. I picked him up and told him to tell me where to turn etc. because I wanted to be surprised. I love surprises. Well, turns out we were having lunch at Steak and Ale which is an awesome place to eat. I had so much fun with Joe! Anyways, I was really excited and wanted to share my excitement with the world...

Vacation 08.16.2007

Recently, my husband Joe and I travelled to Connecticut to surprise my sister Natty for her Sweet 16. While we were there we made a quick trip to the Cape. It had been awhile since I had been there. There was so much to do in so little time. I visited one of my favorite New England stores, The Christmas Tree Shop. Basically it's like Big Lots meets class. Definitely spent money there. We also had family portraits taken by my daddy who is a professional photographer in the Connecticut and Cape Cod area. Two things I was not able to do: go to Martha's Vineyard and go to my former place of employment of five summers, Cape Cod Bagel Company. I will have to save that for my next trip...
Blog Born 10.01.2007
I have finally jumped on board the blog train. Hopefully I will be able to keep it up etc., because it's always disappointing looking at someone's blog and finding nothing has changed since the last time you looked at it. I look forward to meeting my fellow bloggers...
